I'm hoping to find someone who has done a Midget right or has the fortune
to have worked on one that was untouched since the factory. I'm restoring
a 1974 that had been repainted at some point in life from a green (not BRG
- a restoration book showed it to be another shade that year) to blue. I
want to put the paint back close to original.
If you can help me with colors for the following areas, that would be much
appreciated:
- engine block
- transmission (any paint here - bell housing, for instance?)
- engine compartment (mine is black, I saw a B at Hershey that had body
color in here)
- underside: wheel arches, frame, etc.
- passenger compartment (body color, right?)
- running gear (rear axle, front axles, etc.)
I'd be overjoyed to find someone who's restored a Midget and could field
questions about good parts suppliers and nasty stuff like rebuilding sills
and front posts - looks like mine need serious work.
