Mucho congrats amigo. I have thought about one of those
many many times, even thought about trading the Spitfire for one.
Fit a bigger oil cooler, shroud anything that sucks air. I have
two friends that had air-cooled Vanagons, that overheated in the
Desert and needed rebuilds - bad news. I remember old buses had
those vent covers around the rear vents to direct air to the engine..
J.C. Whitney seems to be a big supplier of VW parts and accesseries, BTW.
Sounds like a fantastic trip. What are you going to do about
unleaded fuel? I don't believe there is much unleaded available at
all in Mexico.
