I'm really pissed off! My Midget, with a very spendy premo paint job (done
3 years ago and religously polished every 2 weeks), was damaged a month or so
ago. I had it stored in my carport for the winter (when I drive the B GT).
Some wank-stain builder did some work under the deck about 4 feet from where
the car was (he was replacing some rotten wooden posts which hold up
the house). I inspected the car before he began work and of course it was fine
just the two small chips and one small scratch to blemish the paint in
not to obvious places which I come to love over the years. About 3 weeks
after he was finished I inspected it again and shock horror....there was a
great big chip down to the primer right on top on the front drivers side wing
right where the wanker was replacing the post. I spoke to him and of course
he denied it. His insurance company looked into it and said that because
there were no witnesses and because I did not notice the chip untill 3 weeks
after he was gone they were not going to pay up.
I will add that the car was not moved or driven and there is NO people
traffic past the car or even near it where it is stored. he is the only person
to go near it.
So my question is: what do you think are my chances in small claims court?
I'm not after something for nothing here. I realy do think it was him.
Cheers DW
