I actually still use TR-only occasionally (in my last posting I said I didn't
use them at all anymore). I usually call around for the best deal. The biggest
problem I have with TR-only is Wayne's hours are very irregular and he's not to
good with return calls. He's a good source for parts, but I think it's poor
business practice that he's there when he feels like it and no one else can help
with the parts when he's not. I don't use TR-specialty at all, I've never
heard anything good about them. I used to not use Brit Motor Sports that much,
but I've found they have good prices on new and rebuilt assemblies. I think
the best was E. 14th Auto. I haven't used them since they became Brit Parts
and Service, but they're the same people, so I assume it's pretty much the
same service. I've also try to use regular auto parts suppliers if I can, they
tend to be less expensive than the Brit shops if they have the parts. For
example, I just bought a GT6 alternator (rebuilt) at Autolectrics for $57. The
best I got at the Brit places was $90. Blue Streak makes a hell of a lot
better ignition parts than Lucas. It pays to shop around.
