I'd like to get a new carb for my '80 Spitfire 1500.
I'm looking at a single Weber side-draught vs. a single Weber
down-draught. Is there a significant difference in performance?
fuel economy? (not a big problem -- the Spit's just for fun)
I'm still somewhat of a novice at auto-tinkering, but I can read and
follow instructions... could I tackle the carb, intake & exhaust
replacement myself?
The car currently has a water choke. Any reason I should stick with
that rather than a good old-fashioned manual choke?
Finally, can anyone recommend good sources of info on increasing the
performance of my 1500? (acceleration, braking, handling)
Thanks in advance for your advice!
