My TR7 has a choke that's allways on and gets abismal mileage. I suspect
I need to overhaul the carbs, change the wax thermostat choke thing and
retune.
I've heard horror stories about how hard the Zenith Stromberg carbs are to
work on so I'd like some advice about what my best course of action is.
The options I know of are:
1. Pay Triumphs Only $500 to $600 to install rebuilt carbs and adjust them.
2. Buy rebuilt carbs for $350 and install and tune myself.
3. Buy the carb rebuild kit and wax thermostat and a carb shop manual from
TRF for about $130 and rebuild and tune myself.
I'm pretty good at doing work myself and just overhauled my engine and
brakes on my own without too much difficulty. I'd really like to take option
3, but I also don't want to totally screw things up.
All advice gratefully accepted.
