There was some mail out there about putting a veneer on the dashes of
british cars.

Most wood-workers would reccommend Polyeurithane finishes because they
hold up to weathering well, but in my opinion it makes the wood
look like cheap plastic. I personally *DO NOT* suggest using it.

What you should use is English Toung (tonge)SP? Oil. It gives a better looking
finish. There are a few types of this oil out there. Herbert Formbies makes
a good one. But just thing, before doing anything, get a small piece of
wood, test stain and finish it and leave it on your dash. Just to see how
it ages, i have never used T. oil outside. And i dont know how much
you leave your top down, how much sun you get where you live.......

One other thing, you will probibly want a thicker vineer then normal for
what you want (about 1/16 of an inch thick or thicker)
The thin stuff (for covering tables, boxes, chests...) will curl up
like cheap wallpaper in the sun.

- Hope this helps, good luck
