Yeah, the 2bbl Holley really perks it up, doesn't it? If you look at all the
parameters to selecting a carb you'll see that for street use, a 4bbl 650CFM
is way too big for this mill unless a spreadbore with weak springed vacuum
secondaries and plenum manifold are used, and even then a 600CFM is a better
choice. In the pursuit of HP most folks seem to forget the needs of the mill
at part throttle/lower RPMs where it spends most of its working life in a
street application.

Frankly, a Holley 4360/450CFM on a dual plane Performer would probably be a
good compromise on a stocker or mildly tweaked mill.

you want to go to a new manifold and four barrel carb, I am sure it would be
better yet. Don't go much higher than 650 cfm though or you will just be
dumping in more gas than the engine can handle unless you make other mods.
