Air Door Question

Hi list,
I am a recent owner of a 74 with air doors. My question is:
Would anyone know what would cause my drivers door switches (inside and 
outside) to be seemingly dead (not even the latch activates) until the 
passenger door is opened.
It seems to only happen after sitting a relatively long time (overnight) then 
it's good to go the rest of the day. I do not have wiring or plumbing 
diagrams of this circuit. Does anyone?
Any help would be appreciated.
