Still working on 2157 to get it on the road...
After a can of wd-40, a tank of propane, and a healthy workout with
my sledge hammer, I removed the back drums. It appeared that everything
was original. I bought new drums, cylinders, and shoes so I should not
have trouble stopping.
Thanks to George Malaska, Hank Wolinski- I used both your methods.
The easiest way for me to remove the gas tank was to remove the bumper
and muffler straps. I also found out the local radiator shop will
clean and line the gas tank for the same price as me purchasing the
materials. I will drop it off this week.
The only major job left is to remount the driver side door glass.
Maybe mounting a channel to the mechanism with piano hinge would relieve
some of the stress? Still hoping to get it to the garage for inspection
this month. Again, thanks to everyone for keeping this site active-
it is great to get quick answers to questions.
