I've haven't seen his brace. What do you mean by wedgies? Sounds pretty
lightweight to me, but anything is better than nothing. Just make sure that
once installed, the dimension between from where the tops of the towers
joins the inner fenders is 45".

The R.H. inner knob selects between AM/FM.

Is there a manual antenna that is a bolt on?

I guess. You could always use Liquid Nails and make the glass a structural
brace. :^))
