My friend has chronic problems with his left knee and
hip after driving his '65 Mustang with a super-hardcore
clutch and pressure plate for a long time. Damaging
your knee for a Mustang is just plain pathetic. A
Lotus I might understand, but a Mustang?
And Katie.. I question your logic here.
You state:
Road riding can be dangerous. So why do it? Because
you can develop skills that make you a better (safer)
rider. Just like autocrossing can make you a better
driver. When I do drive, I appreciate it so much more.
I put forth for your consideration:
Eating whole live turkeys can be dangerous. So why do
it? Because you can develop skills that make you a
better (safer) whole-live-turkey-eater. Just like
autocrossing can make you a better driver. When I do
drive, I appreciate it so much more.
Skydiving blindfolded can be dangerous. So why do it?

(safer) blindfolded skydiver. Just like autocrossing
can make you a better driver. When I do drive, I

Installing electrical wiring drunk and naked can be
dangerous. So why do it? Because you can develop
skills that make you a better (safer) drunk, naked
electrician. Just like autocrossing can make you a
better driver. When I do drive, I appreciate it so much
more.
Shooting yourself in the leg with a handgun can be
dangerous. So why do it? Because you can develop
skills that make you a better (safer)
in-your-own-leg-with-a-handgun-shooter. Just like
autocrossing can make you a better driver. When I do
drive, I appreciate it so much more.
