I work for a petroleum pipeline,the petroleum companies dislike the taxes and
environmental regulations in California, but yes they are making enough money
to put up with it. What you need to look for are the stations still having
the 76 logo, most of those will still be a true 76 station, Tosco bought the
company, but there are independent stations, who can still use the 76 name, we
have a new one that was just built in Auburn. If your 76 ran out of race gas
see if they will call another station and check to see if they have any. I was
just at another local 76 today and they still had race gas (5gal.cans) to
include having 100 octane in 55 gal. drums.
