Thanks Don!

Whether, or not, you've thought of running our National Tour on 5-2/4,
here's some thoughts.
To encourage participation from regular SCCA SFR participants, while not
seriously penalizing those who don't choose to run, the SFR SCCA Steering
Committee (SC) elected to include the two-day Tour as a single event of the
SFR Championship series. The event will be scored using only the "Combined
time" from both days -- that is, each entrant's fastest time on day 1 plus
their fastest time on day 2. Points will be awarded as if that combined
time was a single run in a one-run autocross. Series points will be
awarded, in the order of class finish, only to SFR members (eg., finish
4th in Tour class but, the 1st SFR participant, earns you 200 points, etc.).
The Tour is a, really, enjoyable experience.
There will be a practice course (to get surface familiarity) on Friday at
$2/run and then challenging courses on Saturday and Sunday.
You must enter as a "Tour" participant, even if you want to only run one
day (I encourage running both days, more fun and series points). Enter off
of the SCCA Solo page:
www.scca.org/amateur/solo2/nat_tour/2003/atwater/index.html
The organization of the event is "BIG", in many ways, similar to a "National
Championship" event. The major difference is "only" around 300 participate
instead of the approximately 1200 at "Nationals".
As a participant you are exposed to the highly disciplined "Nationals"
approach to event organization while competing against and watching some of
the best in the nation. A great experience!
Don't hang back, enter now, you won't regret.
Thanks for 'listening", Don
