im not so keen on essentially DQing people for WRG. for one thing, some
people would have lots of choices (stock) and others (prep, mod, and OSP)
would have fewer. since there are fair fewer mod and prep people than
stock, you wont be making that much of a difference, while differentially
punishing drivers in classes that are already thinly attended.
i could have done a better job of making sure the positions were filled
before the run groups, but since we did have over 200 entries plus morning
and afternoon fun runs, a 10AM start and picked up before the sun set, i
dont think its a catastrophic problem.
some suggested combining the afternoon run groups to me, but actually it
might save less time.. as long as a car is always running on course, we are
at maximum capacity. having two run groups in the PM leaves dead time for
changeover. getting people to show up for working is the thing that holds
up the event, wandering around the paddock looking for the card sorter or
starter is the most frustrating aspect of chairing i find. listening to the
griping about a nearly perfect course is the second! :-)
