Thanks for the input Pat!
I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel, just lighten it a bit (kinda like
magnesium alloy)

I like the idea. It's just getting folks to plan ahead that's the hard
part. Many autocrossers don't decide to go until the morning of the event.
Hangovers, weather, can change anyone's plans.
That's the idea, planning ahead is optional. Beneficial for those who
choose to.

So far, the money part of the idea is checks mailed in. So you mail your
check Saturday, the day before? Too late for that event, and would have to
be applied to the next event if the check doesn't arrive in time.
Deadlines for mailing, penalties for lateness. We all live with em.
Paypal is a new experience for me. Don't know all the details, but I believe
direct payment to a checking account is possible. Yep, some monitoring
involved. Maybe too much work.

And there's the rub. Don Lew is an awesome guy, but the work load of
this system may require more time over a long term period than he may be
willing to do. A year? Plus the responsibility of the money handlng and
transfer--unless the PayPal was directly connected to the SFR Solo 2
account.
Long term workload ? Commitment ? Heck, I can hold a job over 2 yrs
!
Rolling stone gathers no moss ? Any changes to this or other club procedures
would necessarily require all current and future individuals to be able to
adequately fullfill the work duties. I certainly understand that.

This is somewhat of a offseason for me, with my car requiring repairs
and such.
So I redirected some of my thoughts to this topic to get discussion and
feedback.
Thanks all for the input ! Like a prescription drug plan for seniors (which
I favor if ever done correctly), the time will eventually come for the
updating of the reg. process.
Probably after much discussion.

Don
