What do I mean? I watched two well put together Miatas (D Prepared) at
Nationals. One won DP, and the other got the pole at Mid-Ohio in E
Production at the road racing runoffs (admittedly it wasn't set up for
autocross, but if the guy had prepared gearing etc, and himself better, who
knows?) I also know that a stock Miata is already just about as fast as our
7A. Time will only tell on how far a Miata, in its present form, can be
taken. I doubt the DP-winning car has 'everything' done to it yet. The road
racing version is fully developed.
Newer versions, obviously, will have to go into different classes, but the
basic car is soooo good, so well-balanced, the sky is the limit. It's rare
that such a good car is handed over to the unappreciative general public. :)
