As you may know, South Dakota representative Bill Janklow killed a
motorcyclist when he sped through a stop sign last summer.
He is now claiming that his diabetes caused his loss of awareness and his
carelessness.
Please notify everyone you know that this "twisted Twinkie Defense" (SF Bay
Area folks will remember this) is a threat to all diabetics in the nation.
I for one will lobby for the removal of driving privileges for ALL
DIABETICS EVERYWHERE if it is accepted that diabetes can exonerate reckless
homicide. That would be a shame for all responsible diabetics, but surely if
this condition has the same results as alcohol intoxication, then we must
remove those subject to it from the roads.
In the interest of the safety of workers, we must also ( IF JANKLOW WINS)
bar any diabetics from autocross competition.
