I've been meaning to get back to this thread I started a few weeks back.
There weren't that many responses, but the useful ones were valuable.
Decreasing the complexity was taken to heart, and it seemed apparent
single drivers wouldn't want to lose their tire warmers.
I've decided to avoid the whole late to grid issue and only state
warming tires before griding is not allowed. I think that should be
enough to accomplish the goal. I'd rather stick with assuming (maybe
naively?) everyone is trying to follow the rules.
Here are my updated proposed rules...
Solo II rules wording:
1. Tire warming before reporting to grid is prohibited.
2. For two-driver cars, all tire warming (heat preservation) devices
(active and passive blankets, wind blockers, car wraps, etc.) are
prohibited. Single driver cars are allowed to use passive blankets
over only the tires (no full car wraps or other wind blockers).
3. Each driver of a two driver car is required to run first one day of
two-day events. On the first day, drivers with the lower car number
will run first. On the second day, drivers with the higher car
number will run first.
ProSolo rules wording:
1. Tire warming before reporting to pre-grid is prohibited.
2. All tire warming (heat preservation) devices (active and passive
blankets, wind blockers, car wraps, etc.) are prohibited.
I going to send the above to the SEB for consideration. If you have any
further comments, for or against, please send them. I'm curious what a
larger group of people think.
Matthew.
