If the only safety concern is an accidental trigger of a nitrous system,
then that is not a valid reason to ban them.

Nobody accidentally triggers their nitrous system.  It just doesn't happen.
And lifting your foot off the throttle has the same effect with or without
Nitrous.  It's not like lighting a solid fuel rocket.  If somebody tells you
they accidentally triggered it, they lied and really just wanted to try it
out on course.

I always figured you were concerned about the pressurized vessal in Solo.
Never figured out why, since they are allowed in 6 second Pro Mod cars that
crash all the time at the drag strip.

I have a 400+ hp autocross car.  When I mashed the gas, the horsepower will
more than double.  So?  Anybody using nitrous will find out soon enough that
their system probably isn't sophisticated enough to maintain proper air-fuel
mixture in an on-off-on throttle situation.  If they don't figure it out,
their engine builder will explain it to them.
