Thanks for the nice Bodine link, Matt. It's been a good week for
Geoffrey.
Thanks, also, for helping me learn of the unheralded folks at Bob
Cuneo's shop, for taking Geoff's idea and going forward with it.
I just get a little annoyed at folks who seem to take an elitist
attitude toward types of racing they don't get excited about. I think
all kinds of motorsports are interesting and fun, and don't understand
those who don't just enjoy a race for what it is, without feeling a need
to ridicule the participants or fans.
If NASCAR hadn't come (back) to Watkins Glen International a dozen or so
years ago, I never would've gotten interested in the SCCA or even heard
of autocrossing. My cheapskate's interest in F&C ended up
transmogrifying into my current cheapskate's interest in autocross.
BTW, I'm not defending NASCAR because I live near Talladega
Superspeedway now. I've attended my last event, there, other than maybe
stopping by for qualifying and to work the Alabama Region's Solo I
there, again, on July 13th. The cost of entry and the size of the crowd
are too big for me. Also, you can't see any more here than you can at
Watkins Glen, since half the action is a mile or more away, anyway, no
matter where you're sitting (other than at home in front of the TV.)
Chuck
PS Maybe everybody's just mad because Dodge took all the contingency
money away from the Neons and gave it (and a whole lot more) to Ray
Evernham. . . ;^)
