I think you might find out that most if not all but one CP cars are not tube
frame but production chassis.
I also think one of the main reasons that CP is the largest classes at
nationals isn't just because they are the most fun, but because you can make
a really fun car much cheaper than you can buy a new stock car!
I do agree that there is a substantial increase in costs when you need to
tow a vehicle. But I think that isn't much of a difference than folks who
decide to tow their stock or SP cars.
As I've always said, people will spend as much as they can to get any kind
of advantage. Whether it's the best motor or just travelling everywhere for
more seat time or an Evo school or three. You can't regulate costs, people
with more money will always have that advantage.
