Autocross it to Car & Driver

Page 67 of the January 2001 Car & Driver has a Studebaker Type R. in its
Top Ten Frankenstein Cars section.

In the background you can see the pits with coolers, air tanks, and what
appears to be street tires.

I have seen better aero packages on some of the local racer wannabees.

Does anyone know this car?  The picture was sent in by Todd Steaffens of
Santa Ana, CA
