Leather shrinks and crushes when burnt.
Leather shoes are okay, but make sure the laces burn off or your feet
will crush.
I wear canvas shoes. (Converse All Stars, aka Chuck Taylors, $29 at
the mall, thin sole, thin price, and hey, Iggy Pop wears them!)
