Earlier this week between Monday and Tuesday, the Dixie Region Sports Car
Club of America (SCCA) equipment trailer was stolen from the old Tallahassee
airport parking lot. The SCCA trailer contained all the equipment used for
our monthly autocross events held at the airport. The equipment stolen
included over 200 orange pylon cones, brand new timing equipment, fire
extinguishers, trophies, radios, canopies, tables, a commercial gas powered
blower, flags and other supplies and tools. The stolen trailer is a white
1998 Haulmark 14' by 7' enclosed tandem axle (4 wheels) trailer with Florida
tag number DW7-62L and VIN # 4XSPB1422WG004998. The trailer and equipment
is valued at approximately $10,000. The local SCCA club is a group of
volunteer automotive enthusiasts that sponsor and compete in automotive time
trial races known as autocrosses at the old airport parking lot usually held
on the first Sunday of every month. Please contact Rob Ippolito (224-3550),
Carl Bennet (576-4835) or the Tallahassee Police Department (891-4200) if
you have any information about the missing trailer.
