I agree with you there (most people hate it).
There seems to me to be a problem with depth perception when different
sized cones are used. You kinda figure that the "shorter" ones are
further away, then it doesn't work out that way! I find that at speed,
it unnecessarily complicates things (including the part about
replacement cones of the "proper" size: when someone hits a cone, you
don't want to have to pick up two to find one of the right size!).
