I certainly don't think there's any argument that the BMW is fast, but I
still don't think that Peru is representative of the matchup in ESP between
the M3 and the dinosaurs.

Tunnell was on 245 or 255 series tires, whereas most ESP cars these days
are on 315s or wider. And the car I figure is the best prepared ESP Mustang
the sport has ever seen (Marcus' car) was on 335 series Hoosiers. Tunnell
seemed to be running just as fast as he always was, but cold, wide Hoosiers
Just Don't Work.

Note that the second place car was on Kumhos, and I think Brian runs
something in the 245 to 265 range.

Had it been warm enough so that the big-Hoosier-shod cars were hooking up
properly, we'd have had a race - maybe. I'm entirely willing to believe
that the M3 is an overdog car, but I haven't seen a good straight-up fight
between it and a dinosaur yet. There's always been something else, be it
environmental or whatever, tainting the data.
