Steering Wheel and Pedals for Computer Games

I'll admit it. I wasn't paying attention during the pre-Christmas discussion 
of which steering wheel and pedal combination worked best.

So guess what Santa dropped in my Nomex?  Nascar Racing 3.  Hoo Haa.

Now I want to put Little Jeffy into the wall good and proper once I figure 
this thing out. No animosity there.  I assure you.

So. What was the concensus on the best wheel and pedal set up?
