But now a turbo costs the same to insure as a normally aspirated (we
checked when we were in the market for ours). Go figure that one. 200
hp versus 130--I think I could get into more trouble with an AS MR2 than
a CS one.
As has come up before, insurance rates vary wildly. At 19, I bought a
Shelby charger and had three accidents (only one in the Shelby, but it
was a bad one). One insurance company made noises about performance
vehicles, high risk, etc. Allstate, on the other hand, didn't bat an
eye--and I told them everything.
