Look at the now defunct NATCC, those Hondas had headers against the firewall
and the airhorns for the injection right behind the grille.

It wasn't stock -- my dad had 1st-generation Civic 1200.  Lots of little
hood vents and scoops, but the engine was all behind the grill!

I wonder what cooling the headers that much did to the gas flow?
