At our local BMW club events, non-BMWs get lumped into very large classes -
"non-BMW, 2.0 liter and under, street tires," for example. My Tracer had no
chance against the Neons and Miatas in its class. That's why I got an old
BMW. >:) But seriously, though the Miatas tend to rule this class, there's
one guy consistently among them. He drives a '94 Escort GT *automatic!!!*
He's made more than a few hop-ups to the car, but mostly he's improved
himself - he's an autocross and driver school nut, and attends every one he
can. It shows! So if you're annoyed about the Neons ruling, go buy a used
Escort GT and become a better driver than they are. >:)
