Well, here in Kansas City were we absolutely get no coverage of auto racing
events, except only if there is a crash in a Winston Cup event. It would be
nice to see the stations to start making an interest in the racing community.
Especially since the new Nascar Track is being built in Kansas City, Kansas.
It will be up and running by next year. I can understand about the NFL,
NBA, and the others that are major leagues, but when they start to show high
school games, of rugby and soccer. Then it is of little interest to the
majority of the public. If I had kids, I'm sure they would sit around for
the 6o'clock news just to see if their school or friends are on the news.
I have been contacted by the News Station in question by this letter. They
are coming out to cover our event this weekend. I have yet had the chance to
actually talk at length with the news director in coverage for other events.
I have also been in contact with another local TV station that is wanting to
cover this event. So, in turn it looks like the letter may have opened some
eyes in our LOCAL community.
