Both of your points above are the essence of a recent letter I sent to the
SEB (my second so far on the topic). I think you said it well in a lot
fewer words than I used!
Your and my perspectives both were about ESP, which I took pains to point
out in my letter. Forced induction cars (bear in mind this rule would apply
to supercharged cars, too -- *really* not fair to those guys) in other
classes must be the ones some people are concerned about, because I'm not
aware of forced air cars dominating ESP.

This is the best idea I've seen yet. Maybe when a "controller" has been
suggested in the past, I had visions of something else besides a simple
bypass/popoff valve.
BTW, though, if we're going to encourage such a gadget, we want to steer in
the direction of a bypass, not a popoff, valve. Not the same animal -- the
bypass sends the air back into the system, a popoff vents it to the
atmosphere. Venting upsets the fuel injection metering, bypass doesn't.
And a bypass valve will make the "unlimited IC" rule more useful.
