I think we all need to consider another angle on this one. Tire vendors are used to providing racing compounds for specific environments. This is something they do at nearly every pro racing event. I think the current autocross compounds were created to do their best at Nationals on brushed concrete. The issue is then one of consistency. Should the tire vendors be forced to keep the same compopund the entire year? And can you then legally use another year tire? Good grief. Paul Foster |
