You may also be able to use smaller-diameter tires (depending on size and
aspect-ratio availability) for better acceleration.

No knowing your specific situation, I'd think light alloy 15" would be the
way to go. People with your specific car may know specific tricks which
might negate that theory.
For instance: Are the legal 15" wheels narrower than the legal 16" wheels
for your car?
