The first autox I went to was actually a drivers school saturday and an
autox sunday. It rained for at least half the day saturday.
The front Eagle NCT-II's on my neon were basically destroyed at the end of
the day Sunday. No tread at all on the outside of the tire, cupped, etc..
They had 700 miles on them.
Compare that to the front R1's I used for a two day McKamey school in the
dry and were not corded and are currently running on the back (they were
205's as the 225's were unavailable then).
The NCT-II's cost $155/ea. The R1's were something like $140 each. I
could care less if track tires have tread, I care a lot if my street tires
don't have tread.
