Although in this case, I think someone is trying to "pull you leg",
there are FF's with front "drive" shafts. 

These front drive shafts are used to "stop" versus "power". That's
right, inboard brakes! Check out some of the older Bondurant ads showing
a ground level, front end view of his FF's. In these shots, you can see
an example of a FF with inboard brakes.

Inboard brake were all the rage roughly 20 years ago. The thought was to
bring all of the unsprung weight associated with the brakes "inboard" to
make it sprung weight. Great idea, but in the long run, complexity /
ease of maintenance issues outweighed the advantages.
