Measure the distance between the outside of the bead sealing surface
and the distance from the mounting surface to the outside of the bead
sealing surface.
It is easy, and repeatable. You can then calculate the offset from
the difference of the mounting surface to half the distance between
the bead surfaces.
This assumes that the thickness of the bead mounting surfaces are
equal. If not, you would have to correct for that.
