Battery acid spills

I notice that there was some corrosion in my battery tray.  This I know
is due to spillage during autocrossing from the vent tube on the
battery.  This is the second car I have found this on.  Even "sealed"
batteries have vent tubes.  Is there an easy way to correct this on a
daily driver? What about connecting some tubing on the vent and either
vent down or get some sore of catch bottle that is resistant to the
acid?
