Team Alpine consists of driver Ohan Korlikian and navigator Richard Cox who
are members of the Rootes Classic Motorcar Group (Sunbeam Canada). We are a
community oriented group that pride ourselves in offering free support to
the hobbyist, exchanging information and resources with the aim of restoring
and preserving classic British automobiles for future generations.
Targa Newfoundland (www.targanewfoundland.com) has gained international
racing recognition over the past four years. It is a weeklong annual Tarmac
Rally competition that takes place in stages along a 2,200 km route through
Eastern and Central Newfoundland. Rally racing is a fast-growing, exciting
sport that is capturing large audiences around the world. Unlike most other
forms of motor sports, Targa Newfoundland offers an affordable form of
racing for the enthusiast to experience the excitement of world-class rally
racing. This event has no cash prize but rather the opportunity to
experience the challenge of participating in the true spirit of competition
and adventure.
Historically, Sunbeams have shared many successes in rally racing of years
past. Its pedigree includes: 24 Hours at LeMans, Sebring and Monte Carlo.
Entering modern races with classic vehicles evokes nostalgic feelings of a
bygone era to all ages. It is an opportunity to experience a living history
in motor sports and offers a challenge to compete against modern motorcars.
The Alpine has been maintained to its original factory specifications and it
is ready to face the challenges of this Time Speed Distance race.
