On my serll I have not had it apart,, but it appears that there is no padding between the metal and the cloth.Now that being said. I have whilst lifting the top from the car put a finger right through the cloth,, and nothing. So Was mine that way from the factory? I do know that it is the original top and the cloth or fabric is very aged. Aluminum top. Cheers Chuck |
