1966 Alpine advice

Hello All!

I'm looking at a 1966 Sunbeam Alpine this afternoon with intent to 
purchase.  I have downloaded a couple of buyer's guides from the Web 
and a spotters guide and build list, to verify it is what it says it is.

The current owner says the car has been his mother's for the past 10 
years, spent most of it's time in storage, and has had the engine 
rebuilt.  He want's $6500 for it--that seems outrageous.

Comments?  Helpful advice?
