The portland problem is probably due to our high taxes and general anti 
business government.    We pride ourselves in running off business to 
maintain the quality of life here.  

For what ever reason, (lawyers/marketers/accts?) we have lost what our 
purpose is.  I agree with you, we don't believe in each other anymore.  

Tough day at the mines and your observation just drove it home.
