Lynn,
Usually, one needs to shim the Groose Jets (GJ), and not bend the float
tang that much. The GJ needs as much leverage as it can get from the
float tang so that it can push the needle close. Very tricky. To set the
fuel level, I have the carb air horns off and manually pump the fuel
pump to test the fuel level. I think the fuel level is to be 3/4" or 1"
(I can't remember, but I found it in the shop manual)from the top
surface. So, the horizontal centerline of the float needs to be level
when the fuel level stabilized, that should get the most force on the GJ
to stop the flow of gas.
