I've replaced my generator on the S1 Alpine and now I need to polarize the
fields. The paper I received with the generator states: "Before connecting
generator wires, polarize the generator by taking a suitable length of 14
gauge or similar wire from the HOT terminal of the battery and flashing it
several times against the field (smaller terminal) of the generator." Since my
Alpine is a "positive" ground, is the HOT terminal that it's referring to, the
NEGATIVE terminal on the battery? Can anybody explain the correct method to
me?
