Mine has not failed in the 2+ years I've have mine.  It is still made
to fit the Lucas distributor. How do I know? I replaced my Pertronix a
few months ago, thinking it had failed (it was the rotor, not the
Pertronix), and got a new one from my supplier, no problem.
