Hello everyone!
Well, rather then spend $200 - $300 on a new dashboard for my series 3,
I thought that I would build a new one (I am probably more capable of
work working than metalworking). I am having a difficult time trying to
find a piece of walnut burl veneer that is large enough for the entire
dash (about 8" x 48"). Most pieces are about 24" long at best. I could
splice it in 2 or 3 sections, but I would rather have one piece. I am
looking for any advise that any of you may have on this subject. Does
anyone have any left from a similar project? I have found a source for
a full sheet of veneer but it would be enough for about 4 dashboards and
quite expensive, is there anyone out there that would like to split the
cost on a larger batch of veneer??
