antenna

I am in the final stages of stripping and need to know what is the trick to
removing my antenna???  I removed the side screw that holds the antenna on
which accesses me to a standard screw on the top of the mounting base. I
turn it but nothing happens. There is a small access hole on the inside of
the fender when I open the door but I see nothing turning when I turn the
screw .  Please help....
