Bob,

When I was restoring my 72 the rear lights did not work very well. I 
posted a query and the answer was the ground in the sockets could be 
suspect. The real problem is the original socket assemblies were poorly 
made. Anyway, I finally fixed the problem by grounding every socket 
individually and no problems since.

There used to be a replacement for the original sockets but it NLA.
