Hi John=20

First: Dale's right. If yo had to add fluid and re-bleed the system after y=
ou'd just bled it, where did the fluid go? The clutch hydraulic system is v=
ery short so it won't be hard to find. Make sure you pull back the carpet i=
n the foot well and check the master cylinder inside the firewall. That's w=
here you're most likely to see the leak.=20

If, when you say you added fluid, you really mean that you re-bled it just =
for the sake of trying it gain, and you are certain that there is no fluid =
leak or air in the system, then the hydraulic system is not the problem and=
the clutch most probably is. I wrote a lengthy posting about this a few mo=
nths ago in response to someone's similar symptoms: Clutch works OK when it=
's cold, but fails when it gets warm. The problem, barring a hydraulic issu=
e, is the clutch pressure plate. They've been known to fail when they get h=
ot due to poor metallurgy. I know of what I speak...trust me.=20

Use the middle hole on the release lever.=20

Hey guys,=20
Anybody on-list close enough to come to North/Western NC next weekend? The =
Triumph Club of the Carolinas annual event 'The Gathering' is at Sheldon Vi=
neyards in Dobson, NC. Info at www.triumphclub.org<http://www.triumphclub.o=
rg>. It's a 3 day event, but Friday is mostly a self-guided tour around som=
e nice mountain and foot-hill back roads and Sunday morning is a really fun=
auto-cross. The main car show is all day Saturday of course. Just to be cl=
ear, this is April 15, 16, & 17. The vineyard is about 10 miles south of th=
e NC/VA line on I-77.=20

Maybe reply if you might be there. I will be as long as the weather is nice=

The normal hole to use is the center hole.?=20

If you have had to add fluid after bleeding then where did the fluid go?? C=
heck to see where the fluid went.=20

One thought here is to safely jack the car up and see if you have excessive=
movement in the clutch fork. This can be done with the slave rod disconnec=
ted from the arm. A small piece of pipe may help for leverage to see if you=
feel a catch in the movement.? If so then you may have a broken pin in the=
clutch fork.=20

he car up and see if you have excessive movement in the clutch fork. This c=
an be done with the slave rod disconnected from the arm. A small piece of p=
ipe may help for leverage to see if you feel a catch in the movement.? If s=
o then you may have a broken pin in the clutch fork.

Dale

&nb=

e:)) ?I changed my clutch slave cylinder and bled it. ?Went for a drive and=
after sitting in a drive through a few minutes had a heck of a time getting=
it in gear. ?I learned a long time agonot to take the car out of gear in s=
ituations like that. ?After some crunching of gears I got home. ?On adviceo=
f one more experienced than me I re-bled the thing with my son pushing the =
pedal and me under the car.?Finally after seeing no more air bubbles and ha=
ving a good amount of resistance I went for a short drive.Returning home an=
d about to turn into my driveway I had to crunch the gears again. ?More flu=
id was added and?more pumping etc. I felt confident. ?I got to the end of m=
y street today before I had to do a U turn and come home.I wonder whats wro=
ng? ? ?There are different spots on the rod into the slave and frankly I do=
n't remember?which hole I have it set at. ?Would changing that make a diffe=
rence? ?Should I go to the hole nearer theslave or father awa
y, s=
hould it come to that. ?Ideas, opinions, prayers??John Summers, ?Jacksonvil=
